ROLE SUMMARY
The Vaccine Pneumococcal Global Access Strategy an Pricing Director directly impacts the ability to achieve business objectives on a global basis by providing strategic guidance on access, pricing, optimal reimbursement, launch sequencing, patient value, and evidence generation; she/he is responsible to develop the value and access strategy and its implementation through payer and market insights, glocal partnerships and ensuring there is robust evidence available for the launch of pneumococcal Vaccines. The Vaccine pneumococcal access strategy Director is also responsible for market access colleagues’ development and for building a strong partnership across GAV, Global cross-functional teams and key prioritized markets.
This pneumococcal access strategy director will function with a One Pfizer mindset will join the Vaccine Value and Access Strategy team to ensure there is a single and coordinated view on strategy and delivery and will collaborate seamlessly across GAV, Global Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Clinical, Corporate Affairs and Country Health and Value, and others.
This role will primarily focus on driving global access and pricing strategy for the Prevenar 20 portfolio, with a focus on future pipeline PCV vaccines. This role will need to set the foundation for our next generation pneumococcal assets while also considering the interplay between the pediatric and adult indications.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Partnership: Be a strategic partner to Commercial, Medical, WRDM, GPD, Corporate Affairs, prioritized countries and Regulatory; effectively liaise with GAV’s Centers of Excellence.
Execution: deliver on global access strategy and pricing (GASP) tactical plan in International Developed Markets, financial commitments, and operating plan commitments. Support execution and facilitation of Pneumococcal Franchise Access Matrix Team (AMT) as well as Pneumococcal Vaccines Access and National Immunization Program Technical Committee (VANTAC).
Plan & Deliver on Commitments: Orchestrate development of the integrated value and access strategy for Pneumococcal Vaccine assets and implementation of key tactics to maximize access to patients post launch. Enable the execution of outcomes studies and projects Peri and Post launch in alignment with cross-functional colleagues to demonstrate the value proposition for Pneumococcal Vaccine candidates to payers and other stakeholders to ensure timely reimbursement, expanded and continued access.
External Partnerships: Develop strategic partnerships and collaborations with key external experts, healthcare policy makers, HTAs and payers, patient advocacy groups and various academic and community settings to support asset strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in a health policy, business, or economic field preferred. Knowledge and experience in early drug development. Strong technical knowledge of health economics and/or pricing/access
Extensive experience in market access & pricing, health economics, and related fields.
Experience in understanding and communicating the value of bacterial vaccines including pneumococcal vaccines
Background and expertise in lifecycle products such as pneumococcal vaccines with inline and pipeline assets requiring holistic thinking on overall access and pricing strategy.
Experience in global developing pricing, contracting, and tender strategy in both developed and international markets including non-governmental organizations (i.e. GAVI, PAHO, etc.)
Experienced in leading a cross functional team with strong track record of high level of engagement and delivering results
Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization where managing through influence is required
In depth understanding of pharmacoeconomics, Health-Related Quality of Life and / or pricing and access dynamics required
Excellent interpersonal skills required: ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers; build strategic partnerships internally and externally
Excellent oral and written English communication skills required
Strong project management abilities (contracting, budgeting, vendor management) essential.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (multitask) involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities
Ability to influence key members of scientific and commercial teams constructively and without conflict
Leadership in studies that involve evidence generation, specifically related to RWE, NIS studies for access and delivering payer value
