  • Monday through Friday
  • Shift begins 6am-8am, rotating day off

Pay Range

$20.40 - $30.60

  • Assists with patient care activities and related services under the supervision/delegation of the registered nurse and/or physician including but not limited to intraprocedural support. Assists physicians with accurate retrieval of specimens, specimen preservation, labeling and transportation of specimens to lab.
  • Assists in initiating and/or collaborating with the team for all safety initiatives such as timeout process, traceability of equipment used, and reporting of safety events. Organizes and prepares procedure rooms and equipment according to each physician's specification, checking and assembling proper instruments and equipment needed.
  • Performs high level disinfection and reprocessing of equipment/scopes in a safe and effective manner based on established standards. Acts as a resource for employees regarding the standards of high-level disinfection and endoscope reprocessing. This includes supporting training, developing, performing competencies, and providing direction for daily operations.
  • Cleans, calibrates, operates and performs preventative maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and infection control policies and guidelines. Reports and documents equipment repairs.
  • Documents procedures, images, videos and patient charges utilizing the endoscope and ultrasound information systems.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory for unit by informing unit when supplies are needed, stocking supplies, and receiving ordered supplies. Performs various clerical duties including answering of phones, filing, data entry, scheduling and compilation of patient records.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper techniques.
  • Serves as a resource for troubleshooting procedural equipment during all phases of the procedure. Acts as a preceptor and/or resource to staff for all procedures. Assists to train others in all steps of manual and automated flexible endoscope reprocessing per standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with the physicians and unit leadership in ongoing assessments and development of staff education and competencies. Supports assessment and training of new equipment and procedures, in collaboration with the physicians and unit leadership.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
  • GI Technical Specialist (GTS) advanced certification issued by SGNA by completing the SGNA Associates Program needs to be obtained within 6 months.


Education Required:

  • High School Graduate.


Experience Required:

  • 2 years of experience in Endoscopy Tech experience.
