The GF & DS System Engineer – Tendering, is accountable for the definition of the MDC system technical solutions that best apply to the Tender/Feed assigned as well as contributing during Subsea Projects Execution phase to the system engineering definition when required.
On Tender, working closely with the Tender Team and MDC Engineering Team, the position shall take full ownership for reviewing and understanding client technical specifications, selecting suitable and commercially viable products / systems, and producing technical information for cost generation.
On FEED/Execution, when required, the position shall contribute to the system detail engineering definition that meets customer and project requirements. Reporting to the Engineering Leader Projects and Tenders with a strong link to the Regional Engineering department.
This is a fixed-term 12-month contract
As a GF & DS System Engineer - Tendering, you will be responsible for:
Taking a lead role in the technical execution of Subsea tenders/feeds/quotes, ranging from system level offerings to individual orders.
Ensuring compliance in the Tender/FEED execution with company processes (design reviews, Cost Time Resource (CTRs), BOM’s reviews, etc).
Ensuring compliance with company and Industry specifications relating to the design and build of subsea equipment.
Engaging Early in the customer relation cycle and technical specification review.
Review and execute clarifications within Tender/FEED execution, pre-submittal, and post-submittal.
Ensuring Design Review validation through the Pursuit Phase.
Producing technical write-ups, Equipment Overview Sheets & Product Data Sheets.
Producing and ensuring approvals of pricing BOM’s (Bill of Materials) / MEL (Master Equipment List) / MTO (Material Take-off), Cost Time Resource (CTR).
Working with Designers for input into the execution of drawings for tenders, P&ID’s, general assembly drawings.
Working to drive out cost from system solutions.
Working to drive towards standard, configurable solutions and away from bespoke designs, while maximizing ITT compliance.
Working to obtain necessary technical support and approvals on design/product selection.
Communicating with vendors for the supply of third-party equipment

To be successful in this role you will:
Be educated to Degree level in a relevant subject to this position
Have experience with FEED/Tendering Engineering and Costing
Be experienced in design, selection and system integration of Subsea Structures, Connections and Hydraulic Distribution, Umbilical and Jumper systems (as Flying Leads, Umbilical Terminations, etc)
Have the appropriate level of experience within the Subsea industry, ideally working within Subsea System Engineering
Have technical problem-solving skills
Have strong oral and written communications skills
Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills (incl. influencing)
Be able to manage customer and stakeholder’s expectations
Have strong costing and commercial competence, aimed at reducing Cost, Schedule, Resources and Risk associated with MDC Products selection
