What's Exciting About the Role
The General Manager, Norway role offers the excitement of full P&L ownership for Verifone Norway, driving both revenue and profitability through strategic leadership. You will lead the sales team to set ambitious targets and develop winning strategies, while also guiding product management and development to ensure market alignment and innovation. This position combines hands-on business growth, market expansion, and the opportunity to shape product offerings in a dynamic, digital commerce environment.
Skills and Experience We Desire
- Strategic Leadership: Provide vision, direction, and strategic guidance for the Nordics business, aligning with Verifone's overall corporate strategy and objectives.
- P&L Ownership: Driving both revenue and EBITDA growth with full responsibility for Verifone Norway.
- Champion Verifone Norway: Be the face and voice of Verifone Norway both internally at Verifone and externally with clients, partners, regulators etc. Ensure the business is well represented and promoted to encourage full engagement in initiatives.
- Active Market Assessment: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments in the digital commerce space, leveraging insights to inform strategic planning.
- Business Development: Drive business growth and market expansion, identifying new opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to increase market share and drive both revenue and profitability.
- Sales Management: Lead the sales team, set robust targets and plans, and develop sales strategies to acquire new customers and grow existing accounts.
- Talent Development: Build and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentorship, and opportunities for growth and advancement.
- Operations Management: Manage the operations team such as underwriting, risk and fraud, etc., ensuring operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Product Management and Development: Work closely with the product management and development teams, prioritize key capabilities, guiding product development initiatives, and ensuring alignment with market needs and customer feedback.
- Service Excellence: Champion a customer-centric approach across the business unit, focusing on delivering service excellence and driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Verifone teams, including marketing, finance, legal, and technology, to drive integrated strategies and initiatives that balance both business & corporate objectives.
- Regulator Liaison - Working closely with Compliance and Legal, ensure all licensing and regulatory matters are efficiently and thoroughly addressed.
- Partner Management – Working with Legal, manage and negotiate partnership agreements ensuring Norway is well serviced and commercials facilitate both new business & portfolio growth.
- Performance Measurement: Establish and regularly articulate key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure business performance, track progress, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
