Gas Lift Service Technician

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews quotes, installation and repair plans to ensure a thorough understanding of customer needs and the parts and process required to address the need.
  • As needed, explains installation, service or repair plans, and invoices to customers; discusses cost or time overruns with team leader or manager.
  • Executes installations, repair, or service plans and documents results.
  • Creates product failure analysis reports.
  • Develops good working relationships with customers through professional communication.
  • Operates, recommends and maintains packer and gas lift products and services to meet customer need. This includes, but is not limited to, operating various styles of packers, including assembling, troubleshooting, and releasing of packers.
  • Comprehends a tubing tally and properly fills out installation reports for our customers.
  • Executes tubing set and wireline set packers to company expectations.
  • Performs initial completions, remedial, or downhole maintenance operations from an elevated position.
  • Maintains and performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs to workover rigs and associated equipment, checks fluid, oil, water, hydraulic, and transmission levels.
  • Understands and uses various completion tools complementing the packer product line.
  • Coordinate’s assignments or projects to achieve maximum utilization of clients’ drilling and oil recovery efforts.
  • Work independently at remote customer locations.
  • Troubleshoots and make recommendations for well flow enhancement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ equivalent field tech work experience
  • Good technical/mechanical aptitude
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence required.
  • Preferred two-technical school, min high school diploma

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly, and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is required to occasionally walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.
  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
