Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for a GaN Microelectronics Integration Engineer to join our engineering team within the RF Microelectronics / Module Design & Foundry Services department.  The successful candidate would lead process integration activities related to one or more of our GaN HEMT process technologies.

The role of microelectronics integration engineer has responsibility for all aspects of manufacturing execution to fabricate and deliver compound semiconductor wafers to internal, DoD, or external customers. The ideal candidate will have intimate knowledge of the performance requirements of semiconductor devices, how they are modeled and designed to function within the process technology, and the fundamental device physics driving their performance. They will identify opportunities and lead initiatives to improve process yields and reduce performance variation of integrated circuits. In addition, the successful candidate will successfully engage the customer community (both internal and external) to craft long-term improvements to performance and reliability to support next-generation customer applications.

What You Will Do:

  • Process flow construction in the Manufacturing Execution System
  • Reviewing in-line electrical data trends and process control metrics to disposition wafers
  • Leading failure investigations of performance and yield drivers
  • Establishing the relationships between physical process/tool outputs and device/product performance and yield
  • Teaming with materials, process, equipment, design, and layout engineering teams to solve a wide array of technical problems
  • Interface with the customer or next-higher integration communities -- both to support field returns or the qualification of new products in production or emerging technologies
  • This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover, MA.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience within the RF Microelectronics / Module Design & Foundry Services.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to solve technical problems in a semiconductor wafer manufacturing environment
  • Experience with semiconductor devices and monolithic circuit components, their electrical characteristics, and how they can be measured and monitored
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing methods
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Expertise in Gallium Nitride HEMT device technology
  • Understanding of failure analysis tools and methods
  • Exposure to integrated circuit design, typical performance parameters of microwave circuits, and DC and RF test methods
  • Engagement in technical communities and vendors related to semiconductor manufacturing and device engineering
