Our Internships

We are looking for passionate and motivated students who are interested in pursuing a career in media to join our team! This program is a paid, ten week summer internship.

Our internships offer the opportunity to connect and collaborate across the FT — in the US and globally. You’ll develop ideas that help drive our growth, present your work to US leadership, and gain valuable insights from across the business. Plus, you’ll be paired with a dedicated Buddy to provide mentorship and support throughout your experience.

We’ve embraced a 50% hybrid working model (averaging two to three days onsite) that fosters trust and adaptability while encouraging in-person camaraderie and peer learning.

Role Overview

Financial Times Live (FT Live) is the conferences and events division of the Financial Times newspaper and its group publications. Our mission is to bring our global executive audiences the very latest in knowledge and opinion, and connect them to one another.

Chaired by senior FT journalists, the 200-plus core events, strategic forums and digital webinars organised by FT Live every year capture pre-eminent public and private sector decision-makers, visionaries and strategists from the world’s most important economies and industries for agenda-setting debates that cover the key issues of our time.

From unique experiences such as the FT Weekend Festival to our senior-level business summits such as the award winning Global Boardroom, FT Live has become one of the FT Group’s most successful and fastest-growing divisions, and is at the forefront of the FT’s accelerated development as a crucial, interactive information source across numerous platforms.

Key responsibilities

This internship opportunity will be pertinent to an individual interested in exploring a career in the events space.  In this role, you will support the content, marketing, and event delivery teams by:

  • Conducting desk and phone research to find potential topics and speakers for our existing and new events;
  • Writing copy for event agendas and helping to recruit speakers;
  • Writing marketing copy for websites, sponsor marketing packs, emails, social media  and other channels;
  • Assisting with developing content for social media and other digital marketing materials;
  • Supporting event website content updates and maintenance via the Bizzabo event management platform;
  • Helping with event delivery on the day (on backend if digital, or at in-person events), including but not limited to, support at registration desk, collaborating closely with VIP speakers, FT journalists and delegates, producing event highlights for the social media team, handling the Q&A sessions, and working with the videographer and photographer.
  • Some elements of the internship can be tailored to suit the candidate’s interests and aspirations.
  • Individuals with varied backgrounds and skills will be considered for this internship role, however preference will be given to those with strong research, writing and tech experience.

Required skills/experience

  • Strong curiosity about the events industry, with passion for financial or business-focused events a plus.

  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for collaboration and efficiency.

  • Experience with Canva or similar design tools for crafting marketing and social media assets.

  • Active and professional social media presence, with a particular curiosity about using LinkedIn for engagement and promotion.

About the Internship

  • The internship will be full time from May 4th 2026 - Aug 7th 2026. Before applying, please ensure you will be available on these dates.
  • This is a hybrid internship, meaning you are required to work from our New York office at least 2-3 days per week, the rest of the week can be from home.

Further information

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $17 per hour. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a rate within the estimated range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skills; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations.
