About the Role
 

The Engineer plays a crucial role in driving innovation and ensuring high-quality software development aligned with our Domain Strategy. This position involves coding, reviewing work, and architecting scalable applications that support business goals. 
 

Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management, is essential to align software solutions with customer needs. Additionally, this role drives strategic features within the team for engineering efficiency, stays updated on industry trends, and contributes best practices to improve workflows.
 

This role is part of the Profiles Squad, focused on critical components of the flagship Domain website and app. The engineer will work with technologies like React, NodeJS, TypeScript, and Mobile to enhance products and features that address real customer problems.

What you'll be doing

  • Involved in feature development and participate in technical design discussions.

  • Build and maintain scalable GraphQL and REST API integrations.

  • Collaborate with product and design to deliver intuitive cross-functional solutions.

  • Develop and support user-related features such as accounts, notifications, and the homepage.

  • Champion technical excellence and mentorship, helping grow capability across the team.

  • Contribute to improving system performance, scalability, and developer experience.


What we are looking for

Experience

  • Experience designing software solutions for scale 

  • Experience with either highly trafficked customer-facing websites and/or complex websites

  • Experience working with Tech leads to optimise engineering practices and processes 

  • Experience working in Agile environments 

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (Product, Design and Tech)  

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of ReactJS

  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and NodeJS 

  • Familiar with GraphQL

  • Familiar with Functional and object-oriented programming 

  • Familiar with Document and Relational data persistence models

  • Experience with Microservices architecture 

Education and Certifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree is a must, bonus if it is in Computer Science / Software Engineering or a related field
