Job Summary: About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Clinical Support, Nutrition Care, Food and Production Services at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC. The position performs a variety of tasks associated with the preparation of simple foods, serving prepared foods and beverages and cleaning food service trays, pans, dishes and work areas. Incumbent is subject to rotating shift assignments on a 2 shifts per day, 7 days a week schedule.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Food Service Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks including serving prepared foods and beverages; washing dishes, pots, and pans; I am skilled in setting up condiments, silverware, and glassware; maintaining garbage collection areas. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices PHYSICAL EFFORT: Exerts moderate physical effort in lifting and carrying items weighing from 16-44 lbs. Work involves prolonged standing and walking, mainly on concrete floors. Pushes loaded tray carts on elevators and to wards, then delivering patient trays to patient's bed stand with training. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed predominantly in noisy kitchen and dining room areas. Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used and is exposed to dirt, cleaning chemicals, grease and water in cleaning tasks. Incumbent is subject to extremes in temperatures when bringing supplies from walk-in refrigerators. Wears safety shoes and other protective items as required.
