The Opportunity:
Step into a role where your attention to detail and problem-solving skills make a real impact! As a Fiscal Analyst 1, you’ll be the go-to expert for managing the Third-Party Guarantee process and ensuring smooth financial operations for students, donors, and the University.
In this position, you will:
Take ownership of fiscal accounting, reconciliation, and analysis for third-party payments.
Serve as the primary liaison—you’ll work directly with students, donors/guarantors, and the University to make sure everything runs seamlessly.
Ensure internal controls are solid, payment requests are processed on time, and awards comply with guarantor restrictions.
Review invoices, reconcile payments, and research discrepancies until everything balances perfectly.
Manage payroll deductions for staff and those enrolled in the Coretech Payroll Deduction Program.
Collaborate with Veterans Coordinators to implement billing and reconciliation processes for Post-9/11 GI Bill and other military tuition assistance programs.
Handle additional tasks like processing stop payments on refunds, creating WSU ID numbers for corporate and non-corporate accounts, and assisting with customer service calls.

Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4,027 to $5,398 | Range 45 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, which must include at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting; OR equivalent education/experience.
Proficiency level; mid/expert with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the myWSU and Workday accounting systems.
Accounting experience that involves balancing large dollar accounts with large numbers of transactions.
Experience working in a busy office environment that requires multi-tasking.
