Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Fire Life Safety Expert – Rail to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fire and life safety strategies for rail/metro infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and international best practices, including NFPA and TSI standards, while delivering innovative fire safety solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading fire safety efforts on large-scale, complex rail projects, with extensive experience in the UAE and fluency in Arabic.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fire and life safety strategy for rail/metro projects, covering all aspects of fire prevention, detection, suppression, and evacuation.

  • Ensure compliance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability), and other relevant international and UAE-specific regulations.

  • Lead and manage fire safety initiatives, providing technical guidance and expertise to project teams.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety considerations into the design and construction of rail/metro systems.

  • Conduct fire risk assessments and develop fire safety plans for rail infrastructure, including stations, tunnels, and rolling stock.

  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, smoke control systems, and emergency evacuation systems.

  • Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure alignment with Abu Dhabi's fire safety regulations.

  • Stay updated on advancements in fire safety technology, NFPA, and TSI standards, incorporating innovative solutions into project strategies.

  • Manage fire safety budgets and resources effectively to ensure successful implementation.

  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to fire and life safety in rail/metro projects.

  • Extensive knowledge of UAE fire safety regulations and international standards (e.g., NFPA, BS, or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in performance-based design and fire & emergency response requirements for rail/metro systems.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and motivate a team.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in Arabic (written and spoken).

  • Experience working on large-scale, complex rail/metro projects, preferably in Abu Dhabi or the UAE.

  • Practical experience with NFPA standards and TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) requirements.

  • Professional certifications such as CFPS, NFPA, or equivalent are preferred.
