Job Responsibilities / Phạm vi công việc

• Validate PCA IFRS 17 Playbook
• Understand PCA Technical Interpretation Committee's papers (PTIC) for IFRS 17
• Engage with technical workstream to understand additional information required from source systems to implement the standard, come up with Business Service Request for source system enhancements
• Provide ETL rules from Prophet system to IFRS 17 calculation engine
• Enhance Actuarial Data tools/Prophet system for synergy with solution design.
• Engage with PCA, IT and IFRS 17 solution vendor to set up CSM calculation engine’s parameters and configurations.
• Perform UAT testing for regional solution as implemented at local business unit
• Perform UAT testing for regional solution as implemented at local business unit

Job purpose:

This role is in the Financial Reporting team, an integrated team with actuarial and accounting skillset. The Financial Reporting team delivers trusted reporting and insightful analysis to local PVA, Prudential Group and other relevant external stakeholders; embeds pragmatic governance and control frameworks; and drives internal performances and supports business decisions. The Financial Reporting team is not directly involved in the finance/actuarial operations or the production of the results; and coordinates and collaborates with other financial and actuarial teams to achieve delivery and oversight of financial reporting.

This role reports to and assist the Actuarial Manager / Senior Actuarial Manager, Financial Reporting in providing actuarial competencies and analytics for the success of the Financial Reporting team.

This role provides the incumbent opportunities and visibility to work, collaborate and interact with a variety of finance and actuarial functions, both at local PVA and Group; and also holistic experience in financial reporting for further career development.

Job responsibilities:

·        Support the Financial Reporting team in oversight and management of deliverables of actuarial and financial reports required by local regulators, Prudential Group, audit and internal management. In particular, provide, or assist the team with providing, actuarial reviews and investigation on the deliverables to uphold quality, completeness, fit-for-purpose and timeliness.

·        Work collaboratively with local teams, Group stakeholders, and other relevant stakeholders on all matters related to financial reporting.

·        Support the team in resolving issues in relation to financial reporting; and in driving improvements in financial reporting efficiency and effectiveness.

·        Perform analyses and investigations as required with the aim of articulating driver of results, gleaning insights and supporting business decisions.

·        Support the team in performing cross-basis analysis and reconciliation.

·        Contribute to analysing impact of changes in reporting requirements, standards, or bases; and contribute to initiatives to adopt and implement new reporting bases or requirements.

·        Lead, or support the team in, projects or initiatives as required.

·        Support the team in review of processes, controls, policies, and governance frameworks relating to financial reporting.

Job accountabilities:

This role is accountable for the following, with more emphasis on the actuarial side, and with the support and guidance of the Actuarial Manager / Senior Manager, Financial Reporting:

·        Quality, timeliness and fit-for-purpose of actuarial and financial reports.

·        Successful and timely resolution of questions and issues raised by Prudential Group relating to financial reporting.

·        Efficient, effective and collaborative financial reporting processes allowing for adequate internal reviews and signoffs.

·        Insights and analyses that support business actions and address management questions.

·        Improved understanding of business drivers.

Robust financial reporting processes, controls, and governance frameworks.


Job Requirements / Yêu cầu

Qualification:
•    Mandatory: A good university degree in a subject with significant exposure to actuarial, finance, mathematics and/or statistics.
•    Advantage: Passed some actuarial exams.
Experiences:
•    Mandatory: 1-3 years of relevant actuarial experience. Experience in life insurance industry, preferably with financial reporting. 
•    Advantage: Economic capital (e.g. Solvency II) and experience with participating business or projects would be preferred.
•    Modeling experience with Prophet and stochastic modeling software (e.g. Prophet) is a plus
