Responsible for overseeing business planning activities within the department, including the collection and analysis of business data to identify trends and support strategic decision-making. Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on business status, performance, and projections for management, account officers, internal and external meetings, other departments, and Head Office as required. Foster effective collaboration across teams to ensure timely and accurate information sharing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead business planning activities, including but not limited to:
Collecting business status, performance, and projection information from systems, source data, resources, or communications.
Compiling information, designing report formats as needed, and generating reports as required or requested.
Proposing solutions to reporting issues by recommending alternative data sources and information extraction methods.
Analyze collected data to identify trends and summarize key findings.
Report to the Managing Director/Vice President of the Business Planning Unit (BPU) regarding business planning matters.
Develop and maintain effective relationships and communication with colleagues within the department, as well as with other departments and divisions.
Participate in credit control, business infrastructure, and administrative initiatives relevant to business planning.
Support departmental efforts to control expenses using available system databases and business infrastructure.
Contribute to new projects, task forces, and other initiatives as required.
Undertake miscellaneous assignments as deemed necessary and appropriate by the manager.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS OR EXPERIENCE:
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members in both Japanese and English.
Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years related experience preferably in a financial institution.
Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously despite frequent interruptions.
Ability to quickly master new systems and application platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
OTHER/MISCELLANEOUS:
Flexibility to occasionally work variable hours due to workflow demands.
Capable of working independently and as part of a team to accomplish departmental goals.
The expected base salary ranges from $80,000 - $90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
