POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist management with the evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting; conduct financial, operational, contract, and compliance audits; and consult on the development and implementation of risk-based audit plans.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or noncompliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
- Determine scope of investigation required. Develop risk-based audit programs and test plans based upon contractual obligation or other audit objectives.
- Perform audit procedures through inspection, inquiry, observation, and analysis while using sound work paper techniques.
- Document processes, procedures, and test results.
- Draft memos and audit reports.
- Examine records and interview workers to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with contracts, laws, and regulations.
- Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, and recommend controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Review data relevant to material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.
- Identify issues and meet with the client for confirmation and remediation.
- Develop and maintain productive client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
- Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience:
- 2-4 years’ experience in internal audit practices and/or knowledge of accounting principles and practices (e.g., External Auditing, Internal Auditing, Compliance, Risk Management, Sarbanes Oxley, or Data Analytic experience).
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field (e.g., Data Analytics).
Certifications:
- CPA, CIA, or related certification a plus or willingness to obtain.
Personal/Technical Skills:
- Ability to work independently or collaborate on assignments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to maintain high standards as they pertain to independence and professionalism
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to be resourceful, flexible and adaptable to situations.
- Ability to interact at all levels of staff and/or management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio, SAP, Audit Board, and IDEA or ACL software a plus.
- Ability to apply or willingness to learn data mining tools/techniques and analysis in operational and royalty audits.
Preferred Skills: Following skills are not required, but preferred:
- Contractual compliance experience
- Understanding of retailing and/or manufacturing environment
- Data Analytic background (i.e., coding and visualization)

ENVIRONMENT:
This is a Bangalore, India based role. Hybrid (currently remote/in office 3 days a week) and occasional travel possible.
