As a Newly-Qualified Financial Accountant at Kainos, you'll engage in a dynamic range of financial tasks.
Your adaptability will shine as you assist across various finance functions and collaborate with different departments, all while supporting the Finance function. It's a role that promises variety, challenge, and the opportunity to impact the financial health of the company.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
Management Accounts Preparation:
Assists in the production of monthly management accounts.
Areas of responsibility will include nominal ledger reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
Analysing accounts and carrying out a review of the Trial Balances.
Focus on accuracy and completion within month end deadlines.
Journal Processing
Processing salary journals and ensuring salary costs are recharged to the correct project, where applicable.
Reallocation and batch uploads to be prepared and posted.
Business Partnering:
Providing P&L reports v Budget for assigned cost centres
Expenditure analysis report.
Trend analysis.
Statutory Accounts Preparation:
Assisting with the preparation of year and annual statutory accounts for Group and subsidiaries.
Liaising with audit team.
Ensuring preparation of accounts within set deadlines.
Treasury Management:
Payment processing.
Ability to assist/review bank reconciliations if required.
Assisting with Cash flow forecasting.
Project Work as required such as:
Assisting with preparation of R&D tax credit claims.
Assisting with Invest NI grant claims.
Preparing files and liaising with tax advisers on tax submissions.
Other:
Assisting any area of the Finance team as required (e.g. Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Cash).
Liaises with other Departments in Kainos (e.g. Business Units, People Support, Commercial).
Project work as required (e.g. Assisting with Grant claims, Acquisitions etc.)
Minimum (essential) requirements:
The ideal candidate for this role should be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or hold an equivalent certification.
Possess strong commercial acumen and be able to work effectively under pressure, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be able to make informed decisions.
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, is required.
Teamwork is key at Kainos, so strong collaborative skills are crucial, as is the flexibility to work extra hours during peak periods.
Desirable:
Experience in mentoring and supporting others to deliver tasks and shared outcomes
Experience in handling foreign currencies like the Euro, Polish Zloty, and US Dollar.
Experience with Workday or a similar accounting system.
