The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting and varied opportunity for a Finance Systems Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role will be based in our Sydney office.
Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, this role supports the maintenance and improvement of the firm's practice management system, Aderant Expert. You will also work with other systems which source or impact the data held in Aderant.
The primary systems used are:
Aderant Expert - the firm’s main financial system including time and billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger
Emburse - expense capture system for corporate card transactions
Intapp - client and matter opening and workflows for other Finance business processes
Workday – end to end people management.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Take on a lead role in the implementation of new Aderant modules or related systems within the firm
Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the business requirements are understood, deliver changes in a timely manner and ensure that systems meet the requirements of the business
Carry out system testing of all new applications and modifications to existing applications
Take on a lead role documenting financial systems processes and controls
Provide advice to resolve complex issues
Provide design input to system and process changes
Provide technical support and business advice for data cleansing in the practice management system
Perform ad hoc system tasks such as requests for data extraction and analysis
Respond to internal inquiries about system functionality/capabilities
Client reporting.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
Practical Experience
5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Finance Analyst, or in a similar role in a legal environment
Demonstrated ability to understand and work with complex financial systems.
Ability to provide practical solutions
A background in incident resolution
An eye for detail, the ability to follow a methodical process and to question items that appear to be inconsistent or incorrect.
Technical Skills
Aderant Expert or other Practice Management system experience (essential)
Microsoft Office. Require intermediate to advanced level of expertise in MS Word. Capability to query and analyse data (using formulas) in MS Excel and format presentably is highly desirable
Microsoft SQL Server - Transact SQL (desirable).
