Four Seasons Rancho Encantado Santa Fe is seeking a highly motivated and financially oriented individual to lead our Finance Division as the Director of Finance. The Hotel Finance Director is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring profitability, and providing strategic financial guidance to the hotel management team. This position forms part of the Hotel Executive Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Resort. 

This individual shares our passion for achieving service excellence and infuses enthusiasm into everything he/she does! This position reports to the General Manager of the resort.

Set in 57 unspoiled acres tucked into the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado offers our guests and employees a tranquil setting that is noted for the most scenic views of the New Mexico sunsets.  Our 65-room jewel-box is located 10 minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza full of local culture, shops and restaurants that foodies from around the country are eager to experience.  Our location offers the outdoor person in all of us some of the most spectacular year round experiences.

• Your professional career applies an ethical approach to influence the outcome of situations. 
• Your career experience has a working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting, Purchasing and Food & Beverage control.  Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job or through a series of professional certifications. 
• Ability to read, write and speak English. 
• A working knowledge of hotel systems and operations. 
• Strategic, analytical and solid business acumen. 
• Candidate must have authorization to work in the United States.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Financial Management: Oversee all accounting and financial requirements, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements are prepared. 
• Cost Control: Implement and maintain effective cost control measures to maximize profitability. This includes managing purchasing, inventory control, and risk management. 
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, providing coaching and support   to ensure high performance and adherence to financial policies and procedures. 
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the General Manager and other department heads to develop financial strategies that align with the hotel's goals and objectives. Provide financial insights to support decision-making. 
• Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements  and internal controls. Regularly review and update financial policies to maintain sound accounting practices. 
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement. Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings. 

Other required responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for safeguarding the hotel assets and financial resources to ensure that all are utilized to maximize hotel profitability.  Provide timely and accurate financial information and counsel to hotel senior management and ensure that the hotel operates within all related local and corporate policies and procedures and under the terms of the Management Agreement.
• Continuously deliver the highest level of product with respect to financial reporting and analysis, internal control compliance and business management.  Ensure this is done with both integrity and accuracy.
• Ensure the preparation of a comprehensive monthly report of the entire financial results of the hotel in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Effectively advocate Finance Department programs and policies to Executive Committee, Department Heads and employee groups.
• Monitor the status of Accounts Receivable aging and billing collections to achieve company standards.
• Maintain files on all contracts, leases and agreements and ensure compliance with their requirements; ensure proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel specific contracts (including Engineering), leases and other agreements and competitive bids are on file where applicable and reviewed prior to execution of contract.
• Ensure that monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts are prepared and signed off on in accordance with policy.
• Continuously strive for improvement of processes and efficiency.
• Monitor, control and record all sales, purchases, salaries and expenses of the hotel.
• Closely monitor and effectively manage labor costs; plan vacations effectively and ensure proper service levels are provided with the labor standards, while minimizing OT.  Comply with applicable Employment Laws.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets as required locally, by corporate office or Management Agreement.
• Review the cash position of the hotel on a daily basis in order to optimize the use of funds.
• Always search out and drive new business opportunities that benefit the hotel. 
• Support, mentor and develop finance employees for today and the future. 
• Maintain harmonious and professional relationship with all departments and Corporate Office. 
• Maintain close relations with hotel’s/resort’s ownership and internal/external auditors and ensure effective action necessary on all agreed upon recommendations.
