[What the role is]
The trainee will be a Finance Business Partner to SFA’s Food Reserves team to manage day-to-day finance operations and various finance and governance-related processes and projects. Through this, the trainee would potentially develop finance functional competencies such as business partnering, budget planning, governance & risk management, as well as core competencies such as critical thinking & analysis, working effectively with stakeholders, innovation etc.
[What you will be working on]
The trainee will be tasked on the following:
- Work on the entire end-to-end finance operations processes from budget to payments, collections and receivables, bank processes, grants etc.
- Leverage technology, such as Gen AI, RPA, etc. to streamline finance ops processes or advise and contribute to policy and operational decision-making
- Institutionalise internal controls and governance structures to safeguard the use of public funds in partnership with external and internal stakeholders
- Engage stakeholders in discussions relating to finance, policy, and/or operations.
- Any other duties and ad hoc projects
[What we are looking for]
- Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Business Analytics or equivalent
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Meticulous and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Growth mindset, dedicated to continuous learning and improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint
- Knowledge in Power BI is an advantage
- A good team player and able to work independently
