Job Description:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ability to regularly monitor school feeding activities, food deliveries, storage, meal preparation, and hygiene practices at school level.

  • Skilled in using monitoring checklists, collecting data, and writing clear, factual field reports.

  • Effective in engaging with school staff, parents, local producers, and community committees.

  • Familiar with school feeding operations, local food procurement, nutrition standards, and smallholder farmer linkages.

  • Basic understanding of food handling, storage, hygiene, and nutrition.

  • Able to detect irregularities, monitor food quality and stock balances, and report honestly and accurately.

  • High professional ethics and accountability, especially in monitoring food distributions and school usage.

  • Comfortable using mobile data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, etc.) and basic computer skills (Excel, Word).

  • Ability to verify beneficiary data, track indicators, and submit data on time.

  • Flexible and able to adjust plans based on school schedules and local contexts.

  • Works well with project teams, school staff, and local authorities.

  • Shares information and contributes to collective problem-solving.

  • Candidates should also have at least 2 years’ previous experience in a related field.

  • A mature Christian who shows a desire to serve humanity and to strengthen his/her relationship with the Lord.

  • Good command of oral and written French a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel would be an advantage.

  • Candidates should have at least 1 years’ previous experience in a related field with NGO.

  • Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long period of time with motorbike.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote schools, sometimes in challenging conditions.

  • Candidates should also be willing to live and work in area of project implementation.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Abilities

(The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.)

  •  The candidate must hold a university degree in agricultural sciences, community development, or a related field, with at least two (2) years of professional experience in implementing community development projects. Professional experience in implementing school feeding programs is an asset for this position.
