Rapid7

Field CISO UKI

UK - Reading Full time

We are looking for a Field CISO to help scale and grow our UK and Ireland business, with a strong focus on business and market development. As a senior leader and trusted advisor on the UK & I Leadership Team, you’ll shape the regional security agenda and drive growth through deep, strategic customer engagement.

This customer-facing, strategic role combines Cyber Security expertise with commercial acumen to deliver measurable business value. Acting as Rapid7’s Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert across the region, you’ll bridge cyber strategy with customer outcomes, collaborating closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Product, and CISO teams.

You’ll report directly to the Regional Sales Director UK & Ireland, and play a key role in defining and executing our regional strategy while supporting Enterprise and Strategic customer growth.

About the Team

The UK & I region is a core driver of Rapid7’s EMEA growth, comprising around 60 Go-to-Customer professionals across Sales, Channel, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing - all within a 100% channel-focused organisation. Alongside this, the region is home to one of Rapid7’s largest technical and research hubs, with over 600 colleagues across security research, engineering, global support, and our EMEA Managed SOC operations.

Combining strong go-to-market capability with deep technical expertise, our Belfast and Reading hubs support product innovation, security research, and 24/7 Managed Detection and Response services. The team operates in a hybrid working model, collaborating closely with global product and threat research teams to deliver world-class detection, response, and cloud security solutions.

About the Role

As a Field CISO, your primary responsibility will be to scale and grow business and market development across UK & Ireland, collaborating across teams to drive revenue growth. Specifically, your focus will be to:

  • Act as Rapid7’s senior cyber strategy ambassador, engaging with CxO-level stakeholders to shape security strategy, influence outcomes, and position Rapid7 as a trusted cybersecurity partner.

  • Deliver thought leadership, executive presentations, and innovation initiatives that drive adoption of emerging technologies and cutting-edge security methodologies.

  • In partnership with the UK&I Leadership Team, you’ll define and execute regional strategy, aligning Rapid7’s Command Platform to customer objectives, maximizing value across key accounts, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, and Labs teams to guide market strategy, represent the voice of the customer, and mentor technical talent.

  • Lead complex pre-sales and channel engagements, drive partner enablement, and develop scalable security architecture patterns for enterprise customers.

  • Acting as a key presence in the UK&I cybersecurity community, you’ll represent Rapid7 at industry events, build peer relationships with CISOs and CTOs, and stay ahead of emerging threats and trends to inform both customer strategy and Rapid7’s roadmap.

The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:

  • 10+ years proven experience in Cyber Security and 4+ years in a similar senior cybersecurity leadership, architecture, or advisory role, responsible for revenue growth.

  • Strong understanding of security operations, vulnerability management, threat detection, cloud security, and compliance frameworks.

  • Knowledge of Rapid7's Platform and its components, including Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Exposure Management (Surface Command, Exposure Command, Exposure Command ADVANCED), Attack Surface Management, Next-Gen SIEM, Cloud Security, Vulnerability Management, and Threat Intelligence.

  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Security Stack and how to drive business value alongside this through partnering.

  • Deep knowledge of the UK & Ireland security landscape, including regulations, industry trends, and customer challenges including compliance regulations relevant to the UK & Ireland landscape (e.g. GDPR, NIS2, ISO 27001, DORA).

  • Experience of working effectively in a channel sales environment, enabling and supporting partners.

  • Proven ability to take ownership and drive strategic initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring measurable business outcomes and accountability for results.

  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, with a natural talent for public speaking to simplify complex technical topics for business leaders and win audiences and build enthusiasm

  • The ideal candidate will possess consulting experience and a proven ability to lead cross-functional virtual teams, effectively guiding members even without direct managerial authority.

  • An insatiable curiosity for cybersecurity and a commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging threats.

  • Fluent in English; additional Central European or Nordic languages are a plus.

We know that the best ideas and solutions come from multi-dimensional teams. That’s because these teams reflect a variety of backgrounds and professional experiences. If you are excited about this role and feel your experience can make an impact, please don’t be shy - apply today.
