Job Description:

Solves technical issues across a broad range of technologies (Servers, Storage, Network and SAN) providing Cloud Services solutions for customers. With in-depth engineering level technical product skills or skills across related technologies, applies advanced troubleshooting techniques and solution-oriented, data driven approaches to proactively identify and correct service degradation issues for customers. Beyond the break-fix model, takes end-to-end ownership and communication (internal and external) of the solution from deployment to end-of-life using established clusters of activities which produce a defined outcome. Responsible to monitor, manage and administer the health, capacity & performance of Cloud Services. Architects and develops tailored solutions through a variety of customer contact channels in a hybrid environment: on-site and remote. End-to-end ownership to advise & optimize (internal & external) on application best practices, infrastructure optimization & continuous improvement, compliance & security management, and new services. Typical tasks may include incident & problem resolution, and change, performance & capacity management.

Contributions have visible technical impact on a product or major subcomponent.  Applies in-depth professional knowledge and innovative ideas to solve complex problems. Visible contributions improve time-to-market, achieve cost reductions, or satisfy current and future unmet customer needs. Recognized internal authority on key technology area applying innovative principles and ideas. Provides technical leadership for significant project/program work. Job Description

We are seeking a Federal Cloud Automation Engineer with a strong focus on Terraform to develop, implement, and maintain automation workflows for subscription services within HPE’s Private Cloud Enterprise environment at a federal customer site. This role requires expertise in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure provisioning, and configuration management using Terraform. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other engineering teams to design and implement scalable and secure automation solutions that optimize subscription services delivery.

This customer-facing role requires a deep understanding of automation tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern cloud architectures. You will play a key role in building and advancing the automation catalog for subscription services, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with customer requirements.

Schedule:

  •  M-F 9-5, Candidate must be flexible to work evening and weekends if required
  • Flexibility to work on a monthly rotation schedule required

Responsibilities include:

  • Terraform Development and Automation:
    • Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure and subscription services.
    • Develop reusable Terraform modules and templates to standardize infrastructure deployment across multiple environments.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless delivery of infrastructure components.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Implementation:
    • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps to support automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of subscription services.
    • Automate the deployment of application and infrastructure changes while minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Subscription Services Automation:
    • Work closely with stakeholders to understand subscription service requirements and translate them into scalable automation workflows.
    • Design and implement solutions to streamline subscription service provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
    • Monitor and improve automation workflows to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Cloud and Security Expertise:
    • Apply advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid environments) to design robust automation solutions.
    • Ensure automation workflows adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and security teams, to ensure automation workflows align with organizational goals.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for automation processes, including Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and subscription services workflows.

    Knowledge and Technical Skills:

    • Terraform Expertise:
      • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC development, including creating reusable modules, state management, and integrations with cloud providers.
    • CI/CD Tools:
      • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
      • Experience in integrating Terraform workflows into CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
    • Subscription Services Automation:
      • Proven experience in designing and implementing automation solutions for subscription-based services.
    • Cloud Platforms:
      • Expertise in cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, hybrid environments) and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud-native CI/CD solutions.
    • Networking and Security:
      • Familiarity with network protocols and security best practices for cloud environments.
      • Hands-on experience in securing automated workflows and ensuring compliance with federal standards.

    Education and Experience Required:

    • US Citizen, Secret Clearance Required
    • Certifications Required
      • DD8750 -Security Plus or higher Security Certification (CISSP, CASP, etc)
    • Bachelor’s Degree:
      • Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
    • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in CI/CD pipeline development, cloud infrastructure automation, and subscription services delivery.
