Position Purpose
The Greater Hartford Family Advocacy Center provides state of the art services to child victims ages 0-18 (and their families) of sexual abuse and serious physical abuse in a manner designed to avoid re-traumatization of the child. Under direct supervision provides follow-up and monitors services for child victims of sexual abuse and for their families through the phases of investigation, prosecution, and treatment. Provide services and ongoing support for adult victims. Maintains statistics regarding services received and outcomes. Interacts with professionals from other disciplines and agencies involved in child abuse investigations and provision of services to victims and families. What you will do
Develop and provide support/education services for victims' families through evaluation at the Center
Provide case management services for victim and family throughout investigation and prosecution, medical and mental health processes
Conduct case tracking of Advocacy Center's cases from an initial report through prosecution and mental health treatment
Manage requests for information from community agencies
Conduct intake process to assist primary intake staff
Coordinate administrative aspects of mental health component of program
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human service field, Bachelor of Social Work preferred
2 years experience in children's services including child abuse and/or victim advocacy
Spanish speaking desirable
