Job Description Summary

The Facilities Technician will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure across one or more sites under Cushman & Wakefield’s management. This role performs preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, responds to facility service requests, and helps ensure the facility meets operational and compliance standards.

About the role:

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire safety, mechanical, and structural components.
  • Handle building finishes and general maintenance tasks such as patching walls, replacing ceiling tiles, installing doors, repairing furniture, and performing carpentry or painting work.
  • Assist with the installation, modification, or relocation of equipment and systems as needed.
  • Respond promptly to work orders and service requests; create, update, and close work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Inspect building systems, equipment, and grounds for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions; conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, local regulations, company policies, and safety procedures; participate in required safety training.
  • Communicate with site occupants, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate maintenance activities, repairs, and emergency services.
  • Maintain tools, inventory, parts, and equipment; ensure facility and systems documentation is current.
  • May be required to serve on-call or work non-standard shifts depending on site or portfolio requirements.

About you:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
