Join our team at Terex Utilities and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Expeditor to contribute to the Terex team in Watertown, SD.

This position is responsible for expediting and fulfilling materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors for Terex Utilities. Role also manages the resolution of the clear-to-build reports, future material requirement reports and customer backorders.  Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks.

What you’ll do

  • Works closely with the Purchasing, Planning, and Logistics Teams
  • Be a strong team player with ability to work effectively on cross-functional projects
  • Participate in supplier quality activities such as non-conformance and corrective action completion
  • Review purchase request for material via MRP (Oracle) or manual purchase requisition
  • Expedite Purchase orders via MRP, Kanban, and demand
  • Monitor purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules
  • Receive and enter supplier acknowledgment information
  • Part quote/RFQ Process
  • Part setup as necessary
  • Must be able to expedite critical components and overdue purchase orders
  • Resolve supplier problems associated with over shipments, invoicing issues, obsolete, rework and scrap material
  • Must be able to develop excellent working relationship with both internal and external customers as well as suppliers
  • Maintain supplier relationships while continually achieving the highest level of quality material
  • Review, analyze, and interpret various reports
  • Moderate technical understanding of assigned commodities
  • All other duties as assigned

Key Job Tasks

  • Procurement
    • Expediting responsibility for Terex Utilities parts
    • Ability to maintain Kanban’s and/or issuing PO and utilize MRP systems to manage purchase transactions
  • Material Management
    • Maintain inventory levels for area of responsibility
  • Cost Reduction
    • Given direction, execute initiatives to reduce cost

What you’ll bring

Basic Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ experience in a purchasing, buyer, or material planner role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain, business, operations
  • MRP system experience is highly preferred
  • Engineer to order environment and low volume/high mix purchasing experience, including MRO and production materials purchasing experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Lean experience or knowledge is a plus
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to read engineering prints
  • Ability to interface with company and supplier senior management
  • Technical purchasing and out-sourcing skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the procurement field
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks
  • Ability to research and identify new suppliers

The compensation range for this position is $25.00-$30.00 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
