About the Job 

As an Executive Market Intelligence Recruiter, you'll play a critical role in transforming our Executive Talent Acquisition unit into a strategic talent advisory powerhouse. As part of the Executive Talent Acquisition team, you'll conduct in-depth research and talent mapping to support senior-level and complex searches, leveraging data-driven insights to inform hiring strategies and succession planning, and comprehensive intelligence reports to support corporate development activity. This role blends hands-on recruiting with advanced research, positioning you as a key contributor to GM's leadership in executive recruiting amid rapid industry shifts in automotive technology, sustainability, and global competition 

You'll partner with executive business and HR leaders to deliver actionable intelligence, engaging candidates with a consultative approach while supporting the centralized talent database and market analysis efforts. With a focus on proactive networking and strategic sourcing, you'll help anticipate market trends and efficiently engage top talent across geographies and functions, contributing to a high-performing team that thrives on urgency, innovation, and first-principles problem-solving. 

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct detailed talent mapping and market research to identify and engage senior-level leaders, sourcing support for the most complex searches with data-driven insights and personalized outreach strategies  

  • Build and maintain profiles within the centralized internal talent database, collaborating with the team to ensure up-to-date industry sector mappings that accelerate search starts  

  • Contribute to the development of market analysis reports, providing calculated perspectives on competitive intelligence to shape executive hiring strategies and M&A development  

  • Support senior strategic leadership hiring by delivering proactive sourcing efforts, capturing market learnings for future use while assisting with narrative development and data aggregation   

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align research with succession planning, offering insights that anticipate business needs and enhance candidate engagement  

  • Facilitate candidate discussions and building out a network with passive prospects for future expectations  

  • Assist in refining processes using data analytics and tools, contributing to the standardization of reporting SOPs and the rearchitecting of tech stacks to improve efficiency 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in executive recruiting, talent mapping, and market intelligence 

  • At least 5 years specifically focused on C-suite and senior leadership roles (e.g., VP-level and above) in the automotive, technology, manufacturing, or sustainability sectors 

  • Proven track record of leading complex, global talent searches for Fortune 500 companies or equivalent 

  • Direct involvement in M&A-related talent assessments and succession planning for organizations with 10,000+ employees 

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods 

  • Exceptional networking and consultative engagement skills, with a history of converting passive candidates into hires 

  • Deep knowledge of global talent markets and emerging trends in technology (e.g., physical AI, energy, automotive electrification, B2B & Security). 

  • Consultative, strategic mindset with the ability to operate in high-urgency environments and apply first-principles thinking 

  • Experience creating interactive market intelligence dashboards 

  • Proficiency in process optimization and AI-driven talent tools 

Compensation

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws.

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.

  • The salary range for this role is $159,000 - $212,500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
