The Asset Finance team is a national end to end business that sits within Business Banking spanning across product, operations, specialists and technology. We provide specialist expertise to assist our customers within Commercial Banking, Major Client Group and Regional & Agribusiness with their asset finance needs.

Do Work That Matters

As Executive Manager for Small Business & Customer Direct, you will lead a diverse and high-performing team across multiple segments including Customer Direct Sales & Service (1800 Assets telephony), Small Business Asset Finance Specialists, Private Banking Specialist, and CSN network. This role is pivotal in driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and customer advocacy across the business.

The Executive Manager for Small Business & Customer Direct plays a key role as an expert across asset finance solutions, risk and continuous improvement and will lead our team to unleash their potential whilst delivering successful customer outcomes.

Using your ability to coach, mentor and engage both your team and our clients, you will focus on building a strategy for managing and growing new business within Asset Finance. You will work with a strong performing team of Specialists, customer direct Sales and Service team members (telephony) and Bankers to support our customer’s achieve their asset finance needs with oversight across a diverse customer base.  

More specifically, you will:

• Lead and manage the Customer Direct Senior Manager to effectively manage direct team members.
• Transform the telephony experience to achieve operational scale, translating to exceptional grade of service outcomes
• Lead and manage a diverse team of Asset Finance Specialists and Customer Direct Sales and Service team members. 
• Utilise your industry expertise to understand and identify key opportunities within an ever changing commercial landscape, and develop strategies accordingly
• Coach and mentor a team and support ongoing development, maintain and develop a high performance culture
• Build strong relationships with clients and support your people’s ability to retain their business through excellent customer service
• Develop key internal relationships to maximise opportunities to deliver a broad range of financial solutions
• Continue to build your profile and presence on behalf of CommBank

• Exceptional commercial acumen and credit understanding
• Strong Asset Finance and/or commercial lending product expertise (preferred), banking and financial services solutions knowledge
• A track record of leading high performing diverse teams including the ability to inspire, motivate and persevere
• Leadership capability and a strong risk management focus
• Engaged and motivated with a strong success orientation
• A tertiary qualification in Business/Finance and/or Commerce would be highly regarded
