The Opportunity:

The Office of the President at Washington State University (WSU) is seeking two highly skilled professionals to join our team in roles that provide critical executive-level support. These positions will play a key role in ensuring that (1) the President and (2) the VP/Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Team operate efficiently and effectively in advancing the University’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive administrative support to the President and Executive Team, including managing complex calendars, coordinating travel, and preparing high-level correspondence and materials.

  • Serve as a trusted liaison between the Office of the President and internal/external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships across the University system and beyond.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Provide project and event coordination, anticipate needs, and proactively address issues to support institutional priorities.

  • Undertake assignments with minimal direction, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to analyze and summarize information for reports and decision-making.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement. 

Monthly Salary: $5,483.00 - $7,673.08 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years of experience directly related to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Some positions may require an advanced degree as determined by specific position requirements.

  • Experience in a high-level administrative, executive assistant, or executive secretary role.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities under deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, tact, and discretion, and maintain integrity with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Proven organizational skills within a complex office environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and/or SharePoint.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including professional experience in preparing, editing, and proofreading correspondence, reports, and/or presentations.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Executive level administrative support experience in higher education.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Washington State University operations, policies, and procedures.
