Scope of Position 

The Executive Assistant coordinates and manages the administrative activities of The Ohio State University Hospital (hereafter UH) under the direction of the Administrator and Administrative Directors, of the hospital.  This position requires the ability to effectively communicate across internal and external organizations while working with staff and management across multiple departments and hospitals. Provides assistance to other senior leaders within UH Administration which requires considerable discretion and judgement as dealing in matters of a highly confidential nature.  Oversees office matters relating to facilities and supplies. The UH administrative suite supports the University Hospital senior leadership team that is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations.

Position Summary 

This position will have the primary responsibility of coordinating and managing the day-to-day activities, travel, calendars, and projects supporting the Administrator and   Administrative Directors as assigned.  This position will involve interactions at all levels of the organization and the public.  This position will be responsible for developing and coordinating materials needed for meetings and following up on multiple requests.  This position will draft and compose letters and/or reports, take meeting minutes, arrange meetings, make reservations, travel, order supplies, food, and other duties as requested.  This position will also be responsible for assisting with other senior leader’s calendars and tasks within UH Administration as needed.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Associate degree or higher in Business Management or related field is desired, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative capacity preferred.

  • Administrative experience in a hospital, executive suite, and/or supporting multiple leaders is desired.

  • This position will require a person with sound judgment and the ability to prioritize. 

  • This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions and recommend appropriate action.   

  • Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, educational and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
