(EP) IT Quality Assurance Analyst - Contract Role

A state workforce agency is undertaking a technical modernization of its Unemployment Insurance Employer Portal. As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and accessibility of the newly developed frontend components built on .NET 10 (Blazor or MVC). You will coordinate and conduct testing activities across development, user acceptance, and production environments, ensuring all deliverables meet the client’s rigorous standards for performance, documentation, and compliance.

· Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for frontend and backend components.

· Conduct unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT) in coordination with client teams.

· Validate solution acceptance criteria including code quality, accessibility, documentation, and security.

· Ensure testing covers all workflows, including legacy integrations and new functionalities (e.g., Secure Messaging, eForms, Appeals).

· Track and report defects, risks, and mitigation strategies throughout the release cycle.

· Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing scope and outcomes.

· Maintain detailed documentation of test results, coverage, and traceability.



Pay Rate: This is a contract position contingent upon project needs, with a compensation range of $72–$77 per hour. Please note that this role is not eligible for Nelnet’s benefits package.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or commensurate experience.

EXPERIENCE:

· 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.

· Strong understanding of testing methodologies and tools for enterprise web applications.

· Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.

· Familiarity with .NET technologies, especially Blazor or MVC.

· Knowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA).

· Experience with Jira for lifecycle management and GitHub Enterprise for source control.

· Ability to work in iterative development environments with frequent demos and feedback loops.

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

· Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

· Experience in government or unemployment insurance systems is a plus.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting.

· Commitment to continuous improvement and thought leadership in QA practices.
