Job Summary:

The role as Environmental Sustainability Manager works across functions, balancing environmental objectives with business goals, ensuring that products are designed with minimal environmental impact, and that the company stays ahead of regulatory requirements and market expectations. In the role you will collaborates with IR, Sourcing, Sales, Engineering and BA Sustainability functions to promote environmental impact reduction as a value for customers, improve supply chain ESG, develop circularity targets, strategy, KPIs and procedures. You will also work to strike a balance between sustainable practices and business, ensuring that sustainability efforts improve Munters brand and reputation, positively impacting the bottom line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sustainability and Supply Chain: Coordinate efforts with Group IR, Reporting & Compliance, and Sourcing to screen, develop, implement Munters procedures in relation to supply chain sustainability, as well as gather and analyze necessary information for sustainability reporting and legislation, ensuring alignment with the EU CSRD and CSDDD.

  • Environmental sustainability in sales: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to develop tools for value selling and meeting Munters SBTi validated climate targets.

  • Product compliance: Support the awareness of, and compliance with, local and international laws and regulations in all products. Participate in industry organizations or Public Affairs initiatives to ensure Munters is well-prepared for current and upcoming legislation, including extension to M&A.

  • Circularity implementation and pilot projects: Lead the planning and execution of circularity in the value chain, with a focus on eco-design, life extension and service business models.

  • Engagement & Knowledge: Develop and deliver training to enable progress on the activities above, for example increase sustainability reporting and compliance awareness and engagement in the sourcing community, prepare material for the sales force to enable sustainability in customer discussions, train R&D and product management on eco-design and life cycle analysis for product development.

Qualifications & skills:

  • Experience: 5+ years of project management on environmental sustainability or eco-design topics, sustainability program coordination within a corporate environment, including interaction with customer-driven sustainable development projects.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Sustainability or Energy Engineering

  • Technical Skills: Materials or process engineering, project management, LCA

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of environmental sustainability, materials, circularity and recycling, legislation, EU frameworks, energy and environmental footprint, LCA, eco-design.

  • Communication skills: Ability to present complex topics and initiatives to diverse audiences. Peer impact and ease of interaction with very different stakeholders in a global environment.

  • Project Management: Experience in leading and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work cross-functionally and engage with global teams and external partners.

Languages: Proficiency in English required. Additional language skills are a plus, especially in regions where Munters operates.
