About the Role & Team

The Enterprise Environmental Sustainability Team at The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) stewards the Company’s progress towards its ambitious 2030 Environmental Goals focused on emissions, water, waste, materials, and sustainable design. The team actively partners with key corporate functions and business segments to set sustainability goals, influences implementation of sustainability goals, and leads external reporting of progress against goals. As aggregators of Enterprise-wide environmental performance data and initiative inventories, the team has a big-picture oversight role for all company efforts driving progress towards the goals. Additionally, in support of legal and regulatory compliance, the team plays a critical role in ensuring that environmental disclosures meet evolving global standards and stakeholder expectations.

The Environmental Metrics & Reporting team within the Enterprise Environmental Sustainability Team serves as the central hub for managing TWDC’s environmental performance data, ensuring accuracy and transparency across Scope 1-2 emissions, water, waste, and materials. The team develops and maintains inventory management plans and processes for environmental inventories. It oversees data collection and QA/QC efforts while also managing internal and external audits. The team prepares key metrics and data used for both voluntary reporting and regulatory disclosures. Additionally, it creates environmental dashboards and visualizations, and drives strategic roadmaps for zero waste, water stewardship, plastics reduction, sustainable materials, and sustainable design in collaboration with cross-functional partners. Through its work, the team not only ensures data integrity and compliance but also fosters a culture of environmental accountability and supports TWDC’s broader sustainability goals. Finally, the team helps manage the Company’s reputation by engaging external stakeholders including but not limited to employees, environmental network groups, environmental non-profits, investors, media, and others.

As a part of the Environmental Metrics & Reporting team, the Analyst role will support many of these areas including environmental inventory data gathering, data and documentation review, and internal/external auditing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in completion of internal validations and third-party verification of environmental metrics to ensure compliance with emerging regulatory requirements (CSRD, SECR,..) Review and validate documentation required for internal controls in conformance with the Inventory Management Plans and process guidelines.

  • Assist with environmental data collection process: Collect large datasets from a variety of internal and external sources, organize data, clean and transform data into needed formats for further analysis, and prepare and maintain templates as needed for data collection and calculations.

  • Develop and maintain credibility with a large network of internal partners, conduct regular follow-ups during data collection, validation, verification processes, and support database system development projects. Participate in frequent meetings, communicate status of documentation and data collection activities.

  • Conduct QA/QC of input data and calculations, troubleshoot inconsistencies in data or calculations.

  • Support various projects such as development of data metrics, data automation, inventory system improvements and documentation

  • Support visualizations: develop presentations, create informative visual depiction of input data and output calculations, and guide creation of internal education resources.


Required Education

Bachelor's of Science degree in environmental science, engineering

Required Experience

  • 0-2 years of experience in energy or environmental industry with focus on analytical projects

  • Software: Excel, Programming scripts, Tableau, Power BI

Preferred Experience

Background in environmental sustainability, GHG Protocol; Experience with environmental or data audits

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $72,000.00 to $96,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
