We are looking for an Intern - Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) to assist in day-to-day planning, organizing and implementing all matters concerning environment, health and safety (EHS) in accordance with the requirements of the local EHS legislations, Haleon Global EHS policies and standards, Haleon Global Engineering Standards.

Office Location: Haleon Ulu Kelang, Selangor

Title of Hiring Manager: Sr EHS Advisor

Period of Internship Required: 6 months preferred

Preferred School/Course of Intern: 3rd or Final Year in undergraduate degree student from a recognized University (locally or overseas)

Key Requirements:

Short-term projects -

  • Undertake mini projects as part of a larger project in areas of EHS or Maturity Model / Initiatives, as advised by EHS Lead or EHS Advisors and shall entail:
  • Assist inspection of the workplace (L1), identify the hazards coming from any machinery / equipment, plant, materials / substances or process or manual activity, that is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working there and work with area owner in documenting the risk assessment.
  • Exploring of suitable control measures in minimizing the risk (adopting hierarchical control).
  • Educating those fronting the risk on the consequences and its control measures in place.

Operational Control -

  • Support EHS campaigns (e.g. EHS One, Stop for Safety, EHS Week) and provide clarity of programmes to all levels of staffs.
  • Support the preparation and execution of key EHS governance meetings.

Good Documentation Practices -

  • Assist in creation or revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to EHS, Environmental Sustainability and Security.
  • Filing and indexing of all reports, records, change control, minutes of meeting, training slide packs, testing results in hardcopy and/or softcopy formats such that it is retrievable at all times. Filing and compiling of records of employees pertaining to health assessment, job assessment, audiometric assessment etc.

Key Qualifications:

  • Educational background – Engineering / Science / Environmental, Health & Safety
  • Enthusiasm in working in area of EHS.
  • Effective written, oral and presentation skills. English language is required.
  • Ability to work independently and present ideas convincingly.
  • Problem solving, proactive / analytical thinking and computer skills.
  • Available for attachment period of more than 6 months (preferred)
