Job Description:
Huntsman is seeking an Entry Level Operator supporting the Advanced Materials Division located at the McIntosh Site. This position will report to the Shift Supervisor.
The Entry Level Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant processes and equipment. This role requires gaining a thorough understanding of production systems and applying that knowledge to maintain optimal operational performance. The Operations Technician ensures that all assigned functions—including production, monitoring, maintenance support, and housekeeping—are performed in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
Operate and monitor production systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of process operations and supporting systems.
Perform routine operational tasks, equipment adjustments, and housekeeping to sustain plant safety and productivity.
Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, demonstrating a strong commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
Complete all required company training programs and certification requirements.
Support site and corporate goals through teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication.
Handle materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), following all applicable procedures and training.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Technical or Vocational education (A.S. in Pulp, Paper, and Chemical Technology) or AIDT Industrial Training preferred.
Experience Required:
5+ years of experience in a chemical or paper manufacturing environment as a chemical operator or similar role.
Demonstrated experience with process control systems, production operations, and safe work practices.
Maintenance, instrumentation, or electrical experience is a plus.
Proficient in computer use, including both office and process control systems.
Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and personal initiative in dynamic work settings.
Commitment to Huntsman’s core safety values and environmental compliance standards.
Ability to follow operating procedures, safety protocols, and detailed instructions accurately.
Operator certification or equivalent professional credentials.
Prior RCRA training or experience managing regulated materials.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule in a chemical manufacturing facility.
Shift Requirement: 12-hour rotating schedule with occasional call-ins.
Work performed primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise, heat, and chemicals.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; infrequent lifting over 50 pounds.
Operation of forklifts or other plant vehicles as needed.
Regular use of process and computer equipment.
Minimal travel required.
