This role is responsible for the independent application of relevant technical knowledge, techniques and procedures in support of the safe and effective operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems. This subject matter expert position plays an integral role within a diverse and complex work environment that is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated systems and industrial equipment, ensuring they run efficiently and safely.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- System installation and maintenance: Install, wire, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment, control systems, and industrial machinery according to diagrams and specifications.
- Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose and fix problems with automated systems, including PLCs, BMS, Power & Generation and other electrical components, to minimize downtime.
- Documentation and reporting: Keep detailed logs of maintenance and repairs, document process changes, and record data on equipment performance.
- Provide technical support to Operations, Engineering and Projects in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electrical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and configuration, from general concepts, SOP's, MOP's, Impact Assessments and Drawing packages.
- Provide technical recommendations, input, direction and advice on facilities system, infrastructure and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life-cycle management.
- Evaluate operational systems, equipment, processes and infrastructure in support of general and targeted optimization and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Certificate III or equivalent
- Field: Electrotechnology or other relevant related discipline
Desirable
- Diploma of Instrumentation and Control Engineering or relevant related discipline
TICKETS AND LICENCES
Minimum Essential
- Must hold and be able to maintain an Australian “A” Grade Electrical License, OR hold and be able to maintain a minimum US State Journeyman Electrical License.
- Driver’s License

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
- Personnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role in which they are employed. Personnel must remain able to safely lift and operate the necessary tool and equipment, enter multiple physically restrictive plant access points and swiftly traverse the distances between them without undue impacts to individual health and wellbeing.
- The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly.

EHS REQUIREMENT
