Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion innovation and growth by leading ideation, concept development, prototyping, and testing of composite pressure vessels for water treatment.
  • Coach the team to design, execute, review, and interpret experiments and test plans for prototypes and other products in line with new products development strategy and/or sustaining needs using sound Design of Experiment principals.
  • Participate in initial Voice-Of- Customer research identifying the needs and goals for new products & transform Voice-Of-Customer, critical KPIs into innovative product designs.
  • Coach and develop people to their full potential by fostering a positive and learning environment.
  • As a subject matter expert, actively participate in engineering projects as a working manager when and where required.
  • Lead the team and participate in performing design calculations and preparing detailed design reports as well as creating 3D CAD models and component drawings (using SolidWorks and AutoCAD), and manufacturing specifications.
  • Support raw material evaluation, testing, and qualification to drive innovation and improve cost position.
  • Lead team in creating detailed BOMs, costing, and general assembly drawings for final products.
  • Apply international design standards (ASME, CE/PED, NSF, etc.) and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Continually prioritize dynamic project lists and coordinate team resources to ensure timely execution of engineering projects including sustaining and product development while maintaining budget
  • Serve as an informal project manager for large cross-functional NPD projects, leveraging strong project management skills to ensure successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with global teams including product managers, lab technicians, toolmakers, and vendors.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and reverse engineering to resolve product issues.
  • Participate in sustainability-focused design and manufacturing efforts and transformation, contributing to initiatives in safety, warranty reduction, and quality improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree (BS or MS) in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • 7+ year’s progressive experience as a project engineer focusing on new product development and R&D.
  • 4+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams on multiple projects.
  • 4+ years in a management role with strong leadership skillset and a proven track record of leadership and holding teams accountable.
  • Preferred expertise in fiber-reinforced pressure vessel design and composite manufacturing (filament winding, RTM, hand lay-up).
  • Strong knowledge of materials used in water treatment (plastics, metals, elastomers).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as FMEA, DFM, DVP&R, RCCM, and Risk Analysis.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes: forming, machining, welding, injection molding, casting, and rapid prototyping.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional, global teams.
  • Experience in Design of Experiment (DOE).
  • Strong project management skills to serve as formal or informal project manager for large cross-functional NPD projects.
  • A proven track record of creating a positive team culture where team members and grow thrive; demonstrated ability to work productively with cross functional teams in a leadership capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – can communicate on all levels clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the water treatment industry.
  • Knowledge of FEA tools and ERP systems (SAP/JDE).
  • Experience working in ISO-certified environments.
  • Exposure to sustainability and environmentally conscious design projects.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
