About you and this role:

Dow currently has an opening for an Engineering and Maintenance IT Technologist in Orange, TX. 

 
The Information Technology Technologist uses advanced skills in various data coordination processes and activities as well as specialized expertise in order to perform a variety of complex tasks to ensure data meets quality standards established with the business or function. Manages data quality audits and cycle time metrics. Generates new and innovative solutions to complex problems and adheres to quality guidelines for the businesses or functions they support. 
 
In this role, you will require advanced level of skills and expertise in administrative, data organization, and coordination processes, procedures, and associated systems or specialized technical expertise with analytical/scientific methods or operational processes. You should be able to perform a broad range of complex assignments and understand how teams coordinate efforts and resources to achieve organizational objectives. You will need to have the ability to evaluate and explain unusual and/or complex information use tact and diplomacy when communicating with others. 
 
It is your responsibility to be able to gather and analyze data to identify and resolve unique, complex, or unusual problems. You will be required to provide subject matter guidance to less experienced team members and serve as a specialist or lead for the team with no formal supervisory responsibilities. Your performance impacts your own team and other teams with closely related work activities. You are expected to suggest improvements to existing processes and solutions to improve overall team efficiency. 

This role will initially be heavily engaged in Turnaround digitalization efforts and will shift to broader maintenance digitalization and IT work as time progresses.  
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Architect and manage enterprise-level Power BI dashboards for advanced analytics and decision-making. 

  • Lead the development and governance of SharePoint environments, ensuring scalability, usability, and security. 

  • Provide expert-level support for portable devices and Microsoft 365 applications. 

  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance digital literacy across departments. 

  • Champion the transition from paper-based to digital workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency. 

  • Collaborate with TES leadership and business stakeholders to align digital tools with strategic goals. 

  • Ensure compliance with Dow’s cybersecurity and data governance standards. 

  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Forms and Power Automate flows to streamline data collection and business processes. 

  • Mentor junior analysts and serve as a subject matter expert on digital workplace technologies 

  • Defines and implements performance measures and monitors metrics for the businesses they support 

  • Identifies data quality gaps and takes action to address the gaps 

  • Acts as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others 

  • Identifies key issues and patterns from partial or conflicting data 

  • Applies understanding of application and system level details pertaining to data, where it resides, and how it is used 

  • Manage all digital devices 

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of High School Diploma/GED equivalent 

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience 

  • Experience with SharePoint and PowerBI development and management  

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

This information is intended to help maintenance workers do their jobs more effectively and to help management make informed decisions. 

  • Critical Thinking: Critical thinking is the analysis of facts to form a judgment. The subject is complex, and several different definitions exist, which generally include the rational, skeptical, unbiased analysis, or evaluation of factual evidence.
