Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an experienced Engineer Systems - Level 2/3 for the Systems Engineering team for Advanced Programs in our Chandler, AZ office.
This position is 100% on-site in Chandler, AZ. No remote or hybrid work.

The Systems Engineer will be assigned a cognizant engineer role for a vehicle subsystem, components, the interfaces, and requirements that drive the architecture design. They will provide tactical and technical oversight into that area developing the program requirements, support the architecture products, and oversee verification planning, ensuring all engineering disciples are collaboratively involved. To succeed in this role the ideal candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to work collaboratively with the program IPT structure resolving issues as they arise both tactfully and in a productive manner. Candidate should have a demonstrated history of strong technical skills and demonstrated performance in developing solutions that consider cost, schedule, and technical risk as elements of the problem solution.
Job Summary and Responsibilities

Must be able to work in an IPT structure supporting multiple groups.
Utilize strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level launch vehicle requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities
Manage requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases working effectively with IPT leaders and team members
Drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills.
Create and manage both original and revised specification/interface definition documents and coordinates document approval through peer review and signature process
Support risk management (identifies potential risk) and trade study processes
Manage aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, minor failure/anomaly resolution or mission operations.
Participate in the creation of and manages changes to system or subsystem analytical models.
Facilitate the development and execution of technical reviews for the program.
Engineer Systems - Level 2 Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experience
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
Ability to travel is required
Strong oral and written communication skills
knowledgeable about agile principles and have demonstrated the ability to facilitate an agile development process

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience creating Systems Engineering products
Electrical or Aerospace Engineering Degree
Experience working fast paced development programs
Experience with System integration and verification
