Team - NEWS Corp India Operations

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka (India)

Working Arrangement: Hybrid - a minimum of three days in office per week

Our Team, Offshore Digital and Publishing Operations

News UK is one of the United Kingdom’s largest news publishers, with significant print and digital operations across The Sun, The Times, The Sunday Times, Dow Jones and Wireless group.  

The Publishing Systems Team, based in London and Bangalore, are responsible for managing and enhancing Enterprise-level systems and applications across commercial operations, editorial content creation and publishing, and print site manufacturing. NTS performs application integration development, test, and delivery for editorial publishing system Methode, and many more.

What You’ll Do

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for, but not limited to the following:-

Offshore operation’s is sought to be the first point of contact for any concerns reported on Publishing/Digital application. Therefore On a day-to- day basis, this role will be responsible for providing 24/7 Monitoring company applications along with user access management and vendor engagement. The candidate to bring to the organisation a wealth of knowledge across multiple Monitoring tools and have good working knowledge in ITIL practices. As part of the offshore operations team, the candidate is expected to have a good understanding and hands-on-experience on leading Infrastructure technologies.

Job Description: 

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in Application support.
  • Willing to work on 24*7 rotational shifts.
  • Effective communication skills, since it is essential to work with a global team of members.
  • Should have worked on a software system environment hosted on public cloud like AWS.
  • Knowledge of AWS environment is essential, any certification is an added advantage.
  • Troubleshooting abilities for Operational tools (New Relic), Digital Platforms (Web-site, Android IOS) along with fundamental Understanding of Networking, TCP/IP Protocols.
  • Hands on experience on Linux, shell scripting, troubleshooting abilities on Windows and Linux Platforms, Basic understanding of the user authentication and AD.
  • New-Relic, Cloudwatch, Zabbix or any relevant experience on Application/server monitoring tools.
  • Should have worked on ticketing tools to log, manage and track customer tickets like Jira, ServiceNow.
  • ITIL knowledge or certification is preferred.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base and documentation for Application Support improvements
  • Should have familiarity with CRM tool like Salesforce.
  • Strong Team Player, excellent communication skills, self motivated, flexible.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt latest softwares in the project procured.


Additional Knowledge

  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture, system availability and disaster recovery
  • ITIL certification or other service management framework experience, including working with ITIL based Service processes and functions such as Change, Incident, Problem, Event and Transition.
  • Good Knowledge on Application management/support.
  • Remedy-On-Demand, ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing tool.
  • Zabbix or any relevant experience on any of the Application/server monitoring tools.

Essential skills

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, motivation, as well as excellent problem solving capability.
  • Strong time and task management skills
  • Ideally educated to degree level, with a strong technical and service management background.
  • Good documentation skills to present in any internal or external technical review forums
  • Good communication and report writing skills

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Ensure effective management of any outsourced services and functions through Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts.

Respond to, and satisfactorily resolve, any escalated customer issues or concerns.

Work successfully with on and off shore team members to provide the best overall working structure.
