How will I make an impact?

In this role, you will maintain and upgrade systems to ensure a secure and up-to-date environment. Your responsibilities will include system operations, patch management, system upgrades, cloud integration initiatives, and more. You will have the opportunity to think creatively and make decisions, facilitating our customers' success.

What will I do?

  • Play a key role in Thermo Fisher’s digital transformation.
  • Drive IT Operational Support initiatives, collaborating with global platform, infrastructure, and development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply OS patches and upgrades periodically.
  • Configure new services and upgrade system software.
  • Manage AWS environments focusing on EC2 and Systems Manager.
  • Write and debug shell scripts.
  • Work with VMware, ILO, and physical servers.
  • Proficiency with DNS, FTP, NFS, remote access, and security.
  • Migrate and upgrade servers.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and mentor teams.
  • Support Windows infrastructure in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
  • Manage service requests and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Identify and implement infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure high server uptime and availability.
  • Engage in infrastructure upgrades and maintenance activities.
  • Implement automation for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external partners on industry trends.
  • Experience with ServiceNow for workflow creation.
  • Ensure solutions meet business and compliance requirements.
  • Be available for 24/7 on-call rotation.

How can I get here?

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience with VMware/AWS Cloud infrastructure management.
  • 1+ years in Cloud Solutions Delivery and architecture, preferably AWS.
  • Over 2 years working with Windows Server OS Administration.
  • Experience of more than 2 years in L3 Infrastructure Operational Support.
  • Proficiency in AWS services and cloud-first initiatives.
  • Experience in Windows administration/engineering.
