The Endoscopy Technician is a vital member of the Endoscopy team, providing direct support to physicians and nurses during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. This position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and operating endoscopic equipment, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The Endoscopy Technician also assists in room setup, patient preparation, specimen handling, and equipment reprocessing in accordance with infection control and safety standards.Pay Range: $16.88 - 23.64/hour
Employment Type: Full Time, 80 hours every 2 weeks
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, Occasional weeknight and weekend call required
Requirements: High school diploma/GED or higher level of completed education required, Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider Certification completed by 60 days after hire required
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare procedure rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and function properly.
Assist physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic, bronchoscope, ERCP, and other related procedures.
Demonstrates understanding of GI anatomy, pathology, and common diagnoses
Handle and label specimens appropriately, following hospital and departmental protocols.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and related equipment according to established guidelines.
Maintain equipment logs and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities within the department.
Provide patient care assistance, including patient transport, positioning, and comfort measures, as directed by clinical staff.
Supports the unit by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner such as, but not limited to inventory, ordering supplies, stocking, and cleaning
Adhere to all hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection prevention standards.
Participate in department call rotation, responding to after-hours emergencies as required.
