Employer Relations Operations Coordinator - Worlds of Work - Part Time

Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.

The Employer Relations Operations Coordinator, Worlds of Work, is responsible for supporting the operational aspects of employer engagement activities at GCU, focusing on coordinating tasks, functions, and processes of designated projects to ensure the successful execution of career events and initiatives, including those which specifically connect middle and high school students to industry via the Worlds of Work comprehensive career readiness program. This role emphasizes logistical and operational responsibilities, facilitating engagement initiatives without managing departments. This position is an 9 to 12-month, grant-funded, part-time role which is dependent on funding for future employment.

Location: Main Campus 33rd Ave & Camelback - Phoenix, AZ

What you will do: 

  • Coordinate all logistics for on-campus and virtual career-related events specific to the Worlds of Work career readiness program, such as capstone showcases, career fairs, employer panels, networking mixers, company tours, employer info sessions, and company days.

  • Secure venues, manage room reservations, and arrange necessary equipment and supplies. Develop and maintain event timelines, run-of-show documents, and checklists.

  • Coordinate virtual and hybrid events using platforms like Zoom, Symplicity, and/or Microsoft Teams.

  • Collaborate with employers, faculty, student organizations, internal staff, and community stakeholders to support Worlds of Work goals.

  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to confirm participation, provide event details, and manage expectations.

  • Act as the primary contact for employer representatives pre- and post-event.

  • Partner with community members, GCU/GCE departments, middle and/or high schools, employers, and Career Services to develop pre, during, and post-event assessments and activities to showcase increased understanding based on industry exposure.

  • Create and distribute promotional materials to boost student attendance, such as flyers, email campaigns, and social media content.

  • Coordinate event postings on Symplicity platform, university websites, and internal calendars.

  • Registration & Technology Support

  • Manage employer and student registration for events through Symplicity.

  • Provide day-of-event support, including tech setup, check-in stations, name tags, signage, and troubleshooting.

  • Utilize university processes to order catering, manage vendor relationships, and handle room setup and breakdown.

  • Track inventory of event supplies and promo items, such as signage, tablecloths, and banners.

  • Collect and analyze event feedback from attendees and employers.

  • Maintain event attendance data, employer engagement records, and post-event metrics.

  • Provide summary reports to leadership for assessment and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure all events follow university policies and safety protocols.

  • Complete any necessary risk assessments or event authorization paperwork.

  • Assist with event budgeting, including tracking expenses and submitting reimbursements or purchase orders.

  • Provide a high level of service to employers, students, and university partners.

  • Troubleshoot issues quickly and professionally during events.

  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Minimum associate’s degree required.

  • Prior administrative/office work experience.

  • An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and training/education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be substituted upon supervisor’s approval.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must successfully pass a background check.
