Summary: This is an opportunity for a paid internship in Syracuse, NY where participants will learn about career potential in the insurance industry. Interns will gain understanding about insurance brokerage, and what operations on the brokerage side look like. In addition, you will gain a general understanding of Brown & Brown’s unique culture, along with our mission and values as an organization. You will also develop some key skills that will benefit you in any future office setting and career journey.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned projects and tasks with detail and high quality, while meeting all deadline expectations.
  • Gains experience in their assigned department through networking and job shadowing.
  • Explores other areas of interest to include learning more about the facets of the company, both within and outside of the assigned department.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary course of study, preferably in the field of Risk Management, Insurance or Business Administration.

Physical Requirements Necessary for the Position:

  • Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone on a constant basis 4-5 hours per day.
  • Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication on a constant basis 7-8 hours per day.
  • Vision sufficient for constant use of a computer monitor, reading files and driving a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to sit at a desk on a constant basis for 7-8 hours per day.

Pay Range

17.00 - 17.00 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
