Electrophysiology Senior Scientist/Scientist - maternity replacement

Evotec is a worldwide Contract Research Organization, collaborating with all the major Pharma and Biotech companies in support of various drug discovery and development projects. To efficiently support on going activities and needs, we are looking for a highly motivated Senior Scientist ELECTROPHYSIOLOGIST to join the Discovery Electrophysiology group in Evotec Verona.

 

Responsibility

The research activity includes and it is not limited to target validation and drug hits and candidates characterization.

The candidate will focus on in-vitro and ex-vivo electrophysiology such as extracellular field or patch clamp recordings in acute tissue slices, patch-clamp recordings from cultured neurons and recombinant cell lines. He/she will be expected to spend most of his/her time in direct experimentation and data analysis and will also be expected to prepare and deliver written and oral summaries of his/her work to clients.

 

Qualifications

  • This position is for a highly motivated and independent electrophysiology scientist (University’s Degree or PhD with 3/5+ years of experience in academia or pharmaceutical industry or CRO) to work within a heterogeneous and interactive electrophysiology group.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparation and recording from native tissue and cells. In particular, experience in brain slices recording is a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are required. Fluent English, Italian is a plus.
  • Project teams at Evotec are interdisciplinary and require strong team players with effective communication and strong flexibility. Significant components of the role include technical leadership/ownership.
