Electronic Warfare (EW) Technical Specialist

About This Role

                                                                                                         

Reporting to the CAE Manager, Line-of-Business Support, and working on-site with DND (end-user), the EW Technical Specialist is responsible for researching, developing and testing software tools that support the Electronic Warfare systems of the CF-18 fighter jet. This is a full-time, permanent position. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Update software tools for analyzing aircraft data bus recordings based on existing Software Trouble Reports (STRs).

  • Enhance tools that control radar simulators and data bus recordings during bench testing of Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) and Counter Measures Dispensing System (CMDS) software.

  • Conduct formal testing and documentation of software updates to certify them for field and lab use.

  • Update in-house EW data analysis tools in accordance with STRs.

  • Research and prototype extraction methods for emitter parametric data from intelligence databases to improve RWR reprogramming analysis.

  • Work on-site with the customer

Required Skills

  • Programming Languages: C++, Java, MFC

  • Development Environments: Visual Studio, Eclipse

  • Industry Standards: MIL-STD-1553, IRIG 106, MIL-STD-2217

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Electronic Warfare systems or avionics software.

  • Familiarity with data bus protocols and radar simulation environments.

  • Strong documentation and testing skills.
