The Electronic Resources Licensing Coordinator serves as an integral member of the Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Department (Acquisitions and Discovery Program Area, Content & Access Division) with a focus on managing the licensing of electronic resources workflows in the unit. Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions and Electronic Resources, the Electronic Resources Licensing Coordinator oversees the licensing process, including reviewing and negotiating licenses for new and continuing electronic resources. Works collaboratively across Ohio State departments, including Legal Affairs, and liaises with vendors in the development of acceptable agreements. Supports accessibility initiatives in the Libraries and across campus, with a focus on applicable impacts to licensing terms and processes and manages the Digital Accessibility and License Analyst. May serve as the Library Tech Center building liaison and serve as a local contact for facility related issues. Manages up to three staff positions.

Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 4 years of experience in library technical services or related library functions. At least 1 year of experience in the areas of licensing or contracts. Knowledge of electronic resources such as online journals, databases, electronic books, streaming media, etc. Knowledge of legal terminology in the areas of licensing or contracts. Ability to manage projects and perform complex problem solving. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to complete complex tasks. Aptitude for learning new technologies or software.

Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Communication, Pre-law or one of a similar focus. Experience negotiating license agreements for electronic resources or similar products. 2+ years of experience in the areas of licensing or contracts. Familiarity with digital accessibility landscape, especially as pertains to academic resources. Experience working with document management systems and/or library management systems. Supervisory experience.

Additional Information:

Hybrid work locations are possible.

Posting Range

The posting range for this position is $75,700-$84,000 annually.
