Service Steam's M7 team are on the hunt for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our ranks!

About the Role

Service Stream’s M7 team is looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll work closely with Inspectors, Field Personnel, the HSE Team, Operations Manager, Clients, and the Scheduling Team to ensure all electrical inspection activities meet legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

You will take ownership of managing field personnel, providing inductions, mentoring, and ongoing training, while conducting field audits and driving performance standards. Collaboration will be key as you partner with internal teams and clients to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes across all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct, plan and coordinate the activities of field staff and sub-contractors under his/her control and ensure targets are being met or exceeded
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with new, current internal and external customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Lead and maintain a positive team and motivate people to achieve the highest levels of job satisfaction
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the work group to ensure compliance to all relevant laws, regulations, work practices, and contractual requirements are achieved and maintained
  • Produce and disseminate relevant briefings/updates/information to all staff and sub-contractors at regular toolbox and ad hoc site meetings
  • Maintain reporting systems to ensure timeliness, accuracy of all management information systems
  • Manage all assets such as tools, mobile phones, vehicles, and safety equipment assigned to your team 
  • Conduct initial assessment, induction training and mentoring as part of the onboarding process for new sub-contractors and facilitate ongoing development as necessary to achieve corporate objectives
  • Review company procedures and systems applicable to your role for compliance to statutory, customer, utility, and local Government requirements
  • Work with the Delivery Manager and Scheduling team to ensure that work scheduling targets are being met or exceeded
  • Liaise with and make all necessary arrangements with Public Authorities regarding provision of services and working in public areas 

About You:

  • A strong aptitude for effective leadership, with a commitment to positively influence others and have a genuine interest/passion for staff/team development.
  • Interpersonal skills of the highest order to positively influence customers/contractors/staff.
  • A strong capacity to work schedules - remain focused to manage opportunities and obstacles.
  • Possess an expert technical knowledge of the relevant aspects of the work and the work practices required by the industry and client base
  • Ability to resolve day-to-day operational issues and solve technical problems with a high degree of autonomy, and independent judgement 
  • Demonstrable ability to manage to a budget 
  • Possess suitable negotiation skills to ensure diplomatic resolution of field issues
  • Construction White Card
  • Electrical work licence
  • Current drivers licence
