Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Electrical Engineer located in Columbia, SC.

Reporting to the Director - Engineering, the Electrical Engineer role involves designing the electrical functionality of a product and have responsibility for specifications, component selection, circuit design, electrical testing and final product electrical performance

What a typical day looks like:

  • Write high-level and/or detailed Design Specifications

  • Select components based on Flex and/or customer Approved Vendor List to support technical requirements and meet Flex supply chain needs

  • Schematic design

  • Technical supervision of CAD resources. In some cases may also be responsible for CAD work.

  • Review of Design for Manufacturing and Testability reports to maximize production yields

  • Prototype board bring-up, test, validation, debug and documentation

  • Support for manufacturing prototype, pilot and mass production builds

  • Foster relationships with suppliers to understand and influence technology roadmaps

  • May also be assigned to support production related debug or NPI activities

  • May also participate in quote development, product architecture or technology development activities

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent electrical engineering experience

  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of functional concepts

  • Requires a working level understanding of Computer Assisted Hardware Design tools such as Schematic & Layout tools & Digital simulation tools
