Major Duties:

  • You will perform engineering review and Nuclear Weapons Surety (NWS) system safety analysis, including associated operations, to ensure maximum technical safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency consistent with mission requirements.
  • You will monitor and evaluate SSP contractor operations for compliance with technical contract requirements as requested by contract administrators; authorizes and approves NWS equipment and facility installation proofing's.
  • You will serve as an Electrical Engineer, responsible for continual planning/coordination/investigation and monitoring of electrical components and systems, electrical designs, plans, and documentation to ensure technical adequacy.
  • You will be responsible for the Strategic Weapons Security include: logistic planning and support, maintenance, installation and activation (i.e., facilities, special projects), and modification/alteration programs.
  • You will be responsible for facility and parameter security systems, test systems, hardware (i.e., electrical components, lighting, wiring, cables, batteries), electrical support equipment, and power.
  • You will provide professional engineering services for Strategic Security hardware by monitoring tests conducted, developing and applying operational criteria and applications based on data collected.

Qualifications: In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer delivering technical advice, guidance, and direction to diagnose and resolve issues involving warfare systems, subsystems, or related components throughout their full lifecycle, within industrial or depot-level maintenance, or production environments.
