1Provides direct support and assistance to the Deputy Clerk and Election Team with the coordination of various activities related to the effective implementation of the Municipal Election and related processes, which includes:
Post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in public administration or government relations programs
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a municipal environment
Experience interpreting provincial legislation and regulations
Knowledge of municipal legislation, municipal elections and experience related to municipal elections is an asset
Professional accreditation through AMCTO
Able to prioritize work and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Available to work flexible shifts or overtime as required
Able to work in a highly confidential environment and maintain a high level of integrity
Strong communication and customer service skills with ability to communicate and deal with all levels of staff, public, other government agencies and candidates in a professional and courteous manner
Familiar with municipal policies and procedures, including those related to elections
Effective organization and time management skills
Able to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem solving and dispute resolution skills
Proficient in Windows based software including Word, Outlook and Excel
Ability to travel between different work locations. Access to transportation to travel between work locations in a timely manner is required.
