EHS TechnicianPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for an EHS Technician to assist the EHS Manager with initiatives focused on promoting compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, Shaw Management System (SMS), requirements, and general industry Best Practices. They will help to ensure all safety procedures and policies are accurate and being followed.

Responsibilities:
Assist the EHS Manager with maintaining various EHS compliance programs and training, including safety committees and ergonomic committee activities.
Work as a liaison between leadership and various safety teams. This may include safety committees, the ergonomic task force, and any other EHS sponsored events.
The EHS Technician should have or will develop a working knowledge of all SAFE programs, Environmental Handbook and SMS systems.
Partner with Reliability to ensure all EHS work orders are prioritized and addressed in a timely manner.
Maintain and monitor the facilities Safety Data Sheets. Conduct quarterly chemical audits to verify accuracy.
Facilitate certain required EHS trainings as directed.
Perform SAFE system compliance audits and tasks. This includes the Fire systems, ladder inspections, eyewash station inspections, LOTO procedure reviews, SWPPP inspections, and more.
Perform Environmental system compliance audits. This includes SPCC inspections, Waste Storage and accumulation inspections, Chemical storage/containment area inspections, waste water sampling, and more.
Coordinate shipments of facility non-hazardous, hazardous and universal chemical waste.
Participate in the Incident Investigation process.
Must attend all training classes deemed necessary by the EHS Manager (i.e. fall protection competent person, authorized material handling, etc).
Participate in external SAFE and environmental audits as requested.
Other Responsibilities:
Comply with procedures found in SMS. (SMS001) SMS/HQMS (DOC002)
Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as required.
Give plant tours as needed.
In EHS Managers absence, attend required meetings as directed.
Other duties as assigned by the EHS Manager.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar programs
Preferred certification or familiarity with OSHA requirements
Preferred previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial EHS role
